Xubuntu 7.1
After I log in, but before the desktop appears I get an error message:
Could not look up internet address for is-linuxsrv1
This will prevent xfce from operating correctly
It may be possible to correct the problem by adding is-linuxsrv1 to the file /etc/hosts on your system.
Even though is-linuxsrv1 was already in /etc/hosts,
I deleted it & saved /etc/hosts
added it back into /etc/hosts & saved
It is now several weeks since it first appeared, the message continues to show up.
The only malfunction that I have observed is that the "switch user" feature doesn't work - it refuses to do anything. Other options on the QUIT menu work OK, and all other functionality of Xfce seems OK.
What is the problem? How can I fix it?
