So here's the deal. I'm running Vista 64-bit. I download the 8.04 64-bit ISO and burn it to a CD. I then copy the files from CD to my desktop and run wubi.exe (I read that running wubi from CD could cause it to lock up when the CD is ejected). Anyway, wubi finishes and I reboot. Looks fine.

Upon bootup, I'm asked what OS I want to start up. I have Windows and ubuntu (listed twice for some reason). When I choose one of the ubuntus, the only options are to install it (again?. I didn't get that, but continued to install anyway. So, it finishes and all appears to be good. But when I boot up again and choose one of the ubuntus, then ubuntu 8.04 kernel 2.6.24-16-generic, I get this message:

Booting 'Ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-16-generic'

File system type is ntfs, partition type 0x7

kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-generic root=UUID=AE3AD5bb3AD580AF loop=/ubuntu/disks/root.disk ro quiet splash

Error 15: File not found

Any ideas how to get this running?
