View Full Version : [ubuntu] drag box creates pixel artifacts

I'm running Hardy on a Dell Latitude D620 notebook, with an NVidia Quadro NVS110m GPU. Most of the time, when I click-and-drag-box on the desktop, a permanent pixel artifact is generated at the point of the initial click. Sometimes, it resembles a small drag box itself. The artifact rests purely on the desktop (i.e. windows cover it). This occurs both with and without restricted drivers, and with and without desktop effects enabled.

I am getting artifacts as well after switching from Gutsy to Hardy. I have a nvidia 8600 gt. The top left hand corner of my screen has about two dozen random pixels that sit on top of the panel and open windows (although they sometimes vanish when I minimize a window). I also get cursor lines in Evolution when I move the cursor with the arrow keys. None of this happened in Gutsy. I wonder if it is your same issue.

This was fixed by a recent update.
