Hi

I've just installed Xubuntu 8.04 and would like to know how to configure the desktop as in this official screenshot:

All help appreciated.

Thanks.

Go to: Applications->settings->settings manager->window manager tweaks

Transparency options are on the compositor tab. Make sure you've got the binary drivers enabled for your video card (There's plenty of posts on this). I don't know what theme that is for the window borders, perhaps somebody else can recognise it. I imagine one could come up with something similar playing around in the user interface settings which are also found in the settings manager.

Have you had a browse around xfce-look.org (http://xfce-look.org)?

Thanks. The main question I have is: how do you combine both 'taskbars' to form a single one, at the bottom?

Right click on the bottom panel > customize panel > fixed position > full width
Then add or move from the top panel whatever you want to be there.

According to the Xfce site, the themes are MurrinaNeo + Tango.
