8.04 Hardy Heron: microphone is not working

Hi All,
Yesterday I've downloaded and installed the new distribution Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS desktop variant.
After installation there isn't sound from microphone at all!
The microphone isn't working in Skype to, and isn't working the recording from microphone too.
I'm very disappointed from this issue.
Apropos, on the other partition with Gutsy everything is working fine, what means, that the microphone problem in Hardy is not from hardware.

Can anybody help to get the microphone working in Hardy?
I woud like to get a step by step instruction to that.

I had this problem too...

The solution was to set the recording device to Mix, and raise the volume of the Microphone, even in the playback tab.
