View Full Version : [ubuntu] HP DV6704NR Resolution Problems!!

I have read previous posts on this laptop which I have, but have been unable to get it working. The screen resolution is 800x600 and need to change that. I have the HP DV6704nr laptop. I have 8.04 and everything works fine, even the wifi. Any help would be great, as after I get this worked out the need for xp will decrease that much more. Thanks, Steve

have you tried installing nvidia-settings?

Yes, but no success. When I go to restricted drivers the only ones that show up are for my wireless connection. Have looked at all help areas and nothing is working. Could I be doing something wrong or is this card not compatible with 8.04. Also an added note,I am doing all of this from the live cd. Do I have to install on harddrive for the graphics to work properly. Steve
