I have a quick question: I have a Dell Inspiron 8500, which had Windows XP Home Edition installed on it. I recently burned an Ubuntu Gutsy CD, booted from the CD, and installed Ubuntu. I am not dual-booting; I intend to use only Ubuntu. But now, it seems a couple of things are slightly off: the load-up sound skips every time I reboot, and sometimes when I logon I get an error from Gnome, saying no themes are available. Do I need to install drivers for my sound? And my hard-drive seems to be going non-stop now. I am fairly new at Ubuntu, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve
