other than swap / and /home what else might i want ?

I've had a swap / and /home partition forever. I've decided to start from scratch, and am wondering what else i should add.

i have heard people keeping /opt. i dont know what size to make /opt.

swap i've kept at 2x memory 15gb for / and the rest on /home

how big should /opt be ? any other partitions i'd want to make other than /opt ?
