I just upgraded my system to 8.04 (from 7.10).
First thing I noticed, was that all /dev/hd*'s were replaced by /dev/sd*'s! It seemed weird since all my devices are (still) IDE not serial ATA
So i'd like to ask if the nomenclature changed generally or it had been some failure of the system to detect successfully my devices
Secondly, my DVD-RW drive is dead and unmountable and I guess it has to do with the update itself. Initially I could see a /dev/sdc device which I could not mount. Right now I am checking it, the device is missing altogether!!
