Ubuntu 8.04 i386 Desktop run in Live mode
Intel 8201BA/BAM/CA/CAM rev 01
"Network is unreachable"
for correctly configured static ip
using the same static ip config used over the years
on the same router
with this same computer
under Live or within HD installs
Ubuntu 7 and 6
various Knoppix
various Damn Small
others I can't remember
(I don't do DHCP)
Pings loopback OK
resolve.conf is correct
interfaces is correct
ifconfig up and down commands don't return errors
other ifconfig attempts to set ip, broadcast, etc. return errors i.e.
SIOCC... no such device
SIOCC... no such process
How did they manage to break this??
So sad. :( :( :( :(
