After a fresh install of hardy 8.04 i386 on my laptop, gnome doesn't appear to work at all.
GDM loads as usual, but when I log in, I only get a solid "ubuntu"-brown backround. I can't right-click or anything. I can only use Ctrl+Alt+backspace to get back to gdm.
I installed fluxbox via the commandline, and that works perfectly. And I tried rm -rf .* in my homedir, to no effect.
Any suggestions?
