so i was downloading all the packages to upgrade after clicking the upgrade button in update manager.
my connection dropped and the upgrade failed, now the button is not available for me and i get "Could not download repository indexes" error.
are the repositories just getting hit too hard?
how can i get the upgrade button back.

I've also tried "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" with no luck.

What is the output of "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade"? Any errors? I can't remember if --fix-missing works with dist-upgrade or not, but I suppose it is worth a shot.

Perhaps you could try resetting everything. That is, run "sudo apt-get autoclean", ensure that all of your repositories point to Feisty sources (comment out anything that points to Hardy) and try "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" again.

I hope this helps, or at least gets you in the right direction.
