Hi all,

Just installed Ubuntu 8.04 via Wubi for a try out before committing and every time I try to boot into Ubuntu my graphics card turns off and I have no video.

Booting into 'safe graphics' mode does the exact same thing unfortunately. A regular boot will show the Ubuntu loading progress bar and just before the progress bar is completed the video cuts out and the monitor turns off to conserve energy (no video).

Booting from the Live-CD results in the same error too.

(trying to boot the x64 version of Ubuntu 8.04)

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1GB DDR PC3200 400Mhz
ATI Radeon 2400 HD PRO AGP
MSI K8MM3-V SKT754

Any help is always appreciated.

I did the 32 bit version, the video works but not that well, so I ended up going back to the 7.10 version until kinks are worked out

Hmm... thing is 7.10 didn't work either for me either. It would run but when I would set the screen resolution to 1400x900 I would need to logout and login again so the changes could take effect. When I try to login again the video-sever (I think it was calling itself) would crash in an endless loop.
