Hey everyone, let me begin with giving a description of my laptop:

I have:

Dell Inspiron 6400
ATI Mobile Radeon X1400
Intel Centrino Duo
1.8 GHz Processor
80Gb Hard Drive
Intel Wireless
AC'97 On Board Sound Card

Now I did the upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy a few days ago and it all worked ace!:guitar:
But now I am starting to notice a couple of annoying little things.
Everything is now starting to go slow, Especially games and the like.
I noticed it first with watching a film which was like slowmotion but after using Totem it was working normal, so I thought it was simply a fault with the software, but now all my games are extremely slow, including TuxRacer, SuperTux and Billiard-GL, now who can live without that?!?!?!
Well I thought ok, I will just forget about it for now, but then I installed MythTV and its like my laptop is an old Compaq Presario, the speed is unbearable.
Being the lucky soul (sarcasm here) of an ATI graphics card it obviously makes me think that that's the problem but all 3D effects work flawlessly, including compiz and the dock.

Anyone able to help?
Please?
Arthur

Thought I'd give an update and hope someone can better understand it.

I checked my DUO processor, which was only running on one so i enabled both but no different.
I just checked the 'top' list and fglrx is one of the top ones...heres output:
Firefox at top with 37% CPU and 7.8 Mem, then Xgl with 15% CPU and 11.1 Mem, Python next followed by Xorg but theyre not that big.

GLXGears are working nicely but 840 frames makes it go a bit choppy.

Please help

Thanks
