He's simply overlooking an inconvenient fact, like Bush ignoring the CF in Iraq. :)

what more could they posibly improve on?

Dude, the forums is still collapsing under the weight of the 8.04 release visitors and you' re already talking Ibex?

Having seen the release of 5.04, 5.10, 6.06, 6.10, 7.04, 7.10 and 8.04; I'm not, it's boring now.

I'm still using 7.04. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well, all we know at the moment is that Ibex will be "Intrepid", and will be similar to Edgy in trying completely new things - it might be unstable, but it'll push things forward loads once again. The focus is on connectivity, so we might be looking at some interesting mods to gnome itself - more apps that connect to the internet for news, etc. Should be another interesting release.

8.04 has just came out. Be patient and wait for 8.10. There's no point in getting excited now.

Personally, I am a new-feature-lover and I love eye-candy.

Therefore Hardy didn't impress me that much.....even though it did a bit.

That is why I am one of the anticipators of Ubuntu 8.10.

I'm looking forward to both 8.04.2 and 8.10 because they will both not contain beta releases.

Firefox 3 final release and OpenOffice.org 3 final release.
The sweeter alternatives to sucky Microsoft applications.

PULSEAUDIO PULSEAUDIO PULSEAUDIO !!

Yes that deserved to be in all-caps, perhaps we should hire Steve Ballmer to scream it into the ears of the DEVELOPERS :KS

Seriously, I want my surround sound to work by default, and I don't want to have to restart my computer when rhytmbox chrashes, because it can't play sound anymore. (which I why I use amarok now, it almost never chrashes and has way more features (equalizer), so everything is working fine now). I still want them to fix pulseaudio tough, it would also be nice if it were possible to have sound from multiple apps at the same time withhout having to install a set of packages, such as running amarok internet radio while playing nexuiz, and having sound in both.

I am also pretty excited for tab support in nautilus, and the option to mount archives, so you can just extract a single file from them, instead of the whole archive :KS

I'd like to see fixes for certain annoying bugs. Suspend to ram is broken for me and Hardy freezes if I try to remove an ultrabay device. Ok, I tend to hibernate anyways and usually my extra hdd sits in the bay for weeks, but still... annoying bugs.

Hey peeps,

anyone has any idea what timezone the countdown is in? Is it on GMT, or the local time which Ubuntu is located in?

I don't wanna be disappointed to have the countdown hit zero, and go start a download, only to know that I'm a day behind :D

I believe the main servers are located in the UK, thus GMT. Unless it will be the time in South Africa which is GMT +2. Otherwise I will wait for a announcement on these forums. I will torrent.

ZOMG!!! I'm so excited - even though I'm already using it!!!:)

Wireless works out of the box now. The improvements in wireless and 3G will help a lot more people to make the jump.

You mean it's already the 29th. I just tried the latest release this weekend and from what I can see it's far from ready for ATI users.
