they're in the process of sending it out to the mirrors and such. that page seems to have the final version now though, although they havent announced it on ubuntu.com yet

yes please wait until the official release. by downloading it early you will be slowing the bandwidth for everyone. That is why they haven't announced it yet. They are waiting until they have it uploaded to all the servers and mirrors.

Click new posts...there are about 5 different "Where is the final" threads in one form or another.

You would think it's a big deal or something. :)

Odd. Nothing from a "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" or "sudo update-manager -d" for me. Does that mean I've been basically running the final version for the past two days? I don't even get that cool "beta to final" upgrade?

Does anyone know when Ubuntu Studio Hardy will be out? Or is there a -rt kernel available for "vanilla" Hardy?

...waiting for the first complaint about how buggy Hardy is... :)

As far as UbuntuStudio goes, I don't know. That's what I'll be downloading, and I'm probably not going to bother until next week.

I've got the Kubuntu x86 desktop CD downloaded now, and I'm probably going to get the Kubuntu x64 desktop CD and Ubuntu x86 desktop CD pretty soon (which I'll be needing). I plan to test out Kubuntu 8.04 on my current AMD Sempron (first with a dist-upgrade, then full reinstalled if/when that fails), then install it on my new Core 2 Duo E6750 when I get it, then finally install Ubuntu 8.04 on the Sempron for its retirement years.

It's going to be an eventful few days. Not only this, but Heroes is also starting up again and I've got a good selection of anime DVDs to get watching. Elfen Lied should help me get through some long installs...

I'm downloading but previously have asked for a CD, just to be especially greedy, hahaha
