desklets & screenlets... what is the difference?

where can i download them?(please an official link)

also is there a desklet/screenlet where i can see content from a widget( code) as seen in google/netvibes/pageflakes?

they are pretty much the same thing, just two different packages doing the same thing essentially.

Personally i prefer screenlets

gdesklets are available in the repos.

and what about widget codes from varius sites(?)-is there a screenlet/desklet
for that kind of job?

Screenlets can use google gadgets and some super karamba screenlets. And its native screenlets of course. I believe all screenlets/desklets/gadgets are open-source, so probably no security problems.
