View Full Version : [ubuntu] installed hard drive doesn't show in places

i took the hard drive i had in a computer and installed it in this one and i thought, like xp, it would read it but i thought wrong. i need to get some files from the hard drive. can anyone tell me how i can make it show in the places menu like a normal hard drive?

Is the drive recognized in the bios? What kind of drive is it (IDE, SATA)?

You might want to verify the jumper settings are correct.
