While browsing around I found a Comic Strip that teaches users about GNU/Linux. Check them out:

Synopsis: Woody Hackett learns from his business partner, Jerome Bankwell, that they are the new owners of a documentary production studio that still uses Mastersoft (http://www.microsuck.com/), and that he will need to travel to their facilities in the desert in order to get them setup with Ubuntu Linux (http://www.ubuntu.com/). At "Interplanetary Pictures (http://www.interplanetarypictures.com/)," Woody shows their crew how to get started using the Ubuntu GUI following an installation. Guiding them through some basic software installation, Woody demonstrates to Kaori Soto and her associate Calvin Green basic ideas of GUI operation, so that they can use what they've learned to install other programs they might need down the road.

'Hackett and Bankwell is an educational comic/cartoon manual designed to teach the finer points of the GNU Linux platform using Ubuntu. Written to clearly explain complex concepts, Hackett and Bankwell can be instrumental in helping new users understand the various elements that comprise the operating system and how they work together.'

Yeah I don't think it's supposed to be funny, but that is an interesting presentation format.

I attended a meeting of the Greater Seattle Linux user group a little under a week ago, and to my surprise the creator of Hackett and Bankwell showed up with some copies of his comic.

I think that it could definitely be improved upon, but for what it is this is definitely a friendly way to get people more comfortable with Ubuntu and Linux in general.

He mentioned that there will be an electronic version available really soon (I believe for free), and I'm excited to be able to share it with everyone that I can't hand the physical copy to.

This is an incredible project, and a move towards getting younger people more comfortable and interested in Linux is a goal that can only improve our community.
