is there a command in terminal that i can see the mac address of the router by just knowing the ssid
or is there a program that can provide me with that info

Try installing Kismet.

isn't kismet mac only?

Kismet is a linux program. You are confusing it with kismac, which is uses some of the kismet code ported to the mac platform.
