[SOLVED] Dialup networking?

I'll spare you the reason, but basically I want to have my computer dial up to my friend's computer (or visa versa) I have a driver for my modem, so that is not an issue. How would I go about making my computer (Xubuntu) able to receive a connection, or if that is not possible and anyone knows how, how would I make his computer (Windows XP), able to receive the connection? If anyone can come up with an answer for either of those, and its not the same or similar to the answer to my next question, how do the Dial Up internet companies do it?

I was going to mark this solved... at least until I had a chance to try it... I don't see the option for it though...?
