found this on wikihow

linky (http://www.wikihow.com/Hack-Into-Security-Cameras-Via-Internet)

I know that it is NOT hacking for two reasons

hacking is the modifying and messing around with of code.

it is not like breaking passwords to get to police databases etc, its just putting the right stuff in google, so ignore the title of the page, and watch people in other countries, its fun!

Oh this is soooo cool. A lot of the cameras are pretty boring, but some of them of cafes, or parks are interesting. :P lol

I've got a live-streaming webcam set up in my apartment, just for fun.

I hardly think they're security cameras. more like webcams intended for public viewing.
Still cool though.

If you want something less random, try this (http://www.camcentral.com)

Where?

Public cameras are...public. One has no expectation of privacy in public.

Now if we could get something interesting, like a rain forest cam, that would be cool.

EDIT: I just saw the link above...very cool.

Strange thing, I get a Google error if I try to go beyond 12 pages into the search..

A lot of these cameras are not public cameras. Many are on a network that has not been secured. I remember reading about this before and coming across a thread on a forum where some members had found the camera for a Japanese restaurant where you could control the rotation of the camera. The thread went for pages of people taking screenshots of the confused customers and employees wondering why the heck the security camera was whizzing around on the ceiling, even when there was sometimes no one else in the shop (like when they were opening/closing)...funny stuff! :)

Day care center (http://24.220.44.35/view/view.shtml) right now it looks like the kids are gone, but there are a bunch of young ladies vacuuming/cleaning. Earlier in the day this would be interesting.

Sharks in a aquarium (http://webcam.universeum.se/view/view.shtml) Not very clear, but you can see a big shark swim by once and a while.

Here's a computers lab (http://157.252.245.17/view/view.shtml)

Construction yard (http://72.10.224.194/view/view.shtml?id=1225&imagePath=/mjpg/video.mjpg&size=1) empty now, but later there could be some action.

A science lab (http://149.165.236.111/view/view.shtml) with a bunch of science stuff :P

I just thought of something totally creepy, stumbling on a cam that was pointing at you.

This one:
Auditorio del Instituto Tepeyac Campus Cuautitlán (http://200.67.233.180:84/)
is fascinating. It's obviously a school auditorium, and there always seems to be lots of activity.
No control, and the refresh rate is rather slow (0.5-1 fps), but there's always something going on.

Googling the title gives this:
http://www.fisgonia.com/webcam/173

Hmm... see that 173 in the url? Try changing that...

A good challenge would be to find a computer lab that has all Linux machines. But I think its unlikely we might find any such place, since any network admin who has enough sense to have a Linux based lab won't leave a streaming video port open, unless the video stuff is on a contractual basis.

I would like to find the cameras in my school. I know they are networked since school administrators can watch them at their homes. I know how to dial into the PA system from any phone in my school. I have an idea for a prank involving the PA system and an Arnold Schwarzenegger sound board
