I live on the North side of Chicago near downtown and there are days from the am radio dial, the siginal from a major station (WGN Radio 720 or ESPN Radio 1000) crackles like im 100 miles away from the station. Im about 4-5 miles from downtown, but my question is, Wouldnt it make sense for them to crackle in the downtown area and be fine up in my area? We dont have alot of "high rises"
Has anyone else heard of this situation in a large metro area? Most of the transmitters for the stations are 20 + miles away from downtown too
