Hi,

I installed ubuntu a few months ago and liked it, so I decided to install it on the other computers in my home network. I set up an NFS server, but my 750gb SATA storage drive (which was about 2/3 full) was NTFS so I decided to format the five partitions on it to ext3 (one by one so I wouldn't have to delete anything) so the other computers could see it.

Well, I just finished last night. This morning the computer where the HDD is installed was locked up (screen was completely black and wouldn't respond), so I rebooted it from another computer on the network. Actually before I did this I checked and all of the data on the partitions was still there. Anyways after rebooting, cfdisk now says I have 750gb of free space.

Is there any way I can recover this data?

Thanks!

Aaron

Is this as hopeless as I think it is?
