View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to play ABC video

I installed mplayer and realplayer. I can play everything I want, but not www.abc.com video.
Any sulutions?

Do you have flash 9 installed? I believe abc uses flash for their videos.

When I try to play an ABC video I get this message "Oops
Our new video player is only available for:
Windows 2000/XP/Vista - Internet Explorer, Firefox
Mac - Firefox, Safari
To watch, please download the appropriate browser."

I am using Firefox.

CBS and NBC play fine.

Sorry I just checked the site and even with Flash and changing user agents it wouldn't work. Try running Firefox under wine.

You need the MoveNetworks (http://www.movenetworks.com) player to watch abc.com shows. Go to their site and try installing it. Then shoot them an email requesting support for Ubuntu. There is a work around. It's in this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=432045&highlight=abc.com) I created a year ago.

I checked your thread and clicked on the link you had problems with(
http://abc.go.com/fsp/index.html?lid...os=VideoPlayer (http://www.movenetworks.com/)) and it worked fine, so I suppose they fixed that problem. I think the problem is trying to play the "full episodes" [url]http://dynamic.abc.go.com/streaming/landing?lid=ABCCOMGlobalMenu&lpos=FEP

I was referring to the full episodes. You need the MoveNetworks.com (http://www.movenetworks.com/) player for them to work.
