Could someone please recomend a new mp3 player for me?

I need one that:
- works with Kubuntu!
- is small, I have looked at iPod Shuffle and Zen Stone Speaker Pluss
- prefferably has more than 4GB storage

I have no need for video and andvanced features. I will bee using the player when I am jogging or riding my bike. A small screen with information about the currently playing song would be great, but not absolutely needed.

Have a look at the rockbox project, www.rockbox.org. They've made opensource firmware for a variety of mp3 players, giving them a much broader and better range of features. I would recommend one of the sandisk sansa players, you have to make sure you get a version 1 one though. They take SD cards so you can expand it as much as you like.

the sansa e280 would be perfect since it works with rockbox and is 8gb with microsd extra storage, and very cheap in tigerdirect too, only $50!

Check out cowon players like here (http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&safe=active&client=safari&q=cowon+mp3+player&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=1ZR8TLS-Ms6yngfB65ydCw&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&ct=title&resnum=3&ved=0CEAQrQQwAg)

Don't go the apple route if you want cross platform compatibility.
