Downloaded Desktop Edition ubuntu 7.10 x86 architecture alternate desktop CD. The integrity of the CD comes back as successful.

Link to the computer Ubuntu is being installed on for specs a Compaq Presario 6320US Desktop PC

After install I reboot and get the message:

starting up.....
17,330735 kernel panic - not syncing; no init found. Try passing init=option to kernel

How do I do what it says or fix this problem?

I forgot to burn the ubuntu-7.10-alternate-i386.iso file to CD at the lowest speed possible.

After burning the .iso file to CD at the lowest speed possible and a reinstall, all is well and boots up fine with no problems.
