Total noob in ubuntu. A friend well versed in terminal (but not in gnome/gui) came over and helped me install an additional HD. We (he) moved my home folder onto the new drive - messed up a number of things as a result - but one was lost bookmarks. I'd found and bookmarked an excellent page here with a list of the terminal commands and what they mean/do but for the life of me I cant find it. It was in a long list of "how-tos". Help me find the link please.

This is a good list, although not in the most readable format.

This is a nice cheat sheet you can print and use:

Thanks! That helped me get done what I needed.... I ended up running a couple of Google searches and found the link I was looking for. I could have sworn this was in one of the first 'how-to' stickies I read here.... I found it in the archives tho...reposting cuz its worth having...

as an aside, if you go into your moved home folder, go in the .mozilla folder (its hidden, hence the dot), and have a poke around. you should be able to find your bookmarks information file and replace your new firefox bookmarks folder with the one that was moved

I was OK retrieving the bookmarks (I'd orig imported them from my win unit and the htm file is still there for backup). I also had to reset screen res and several other things. Did OK there too. Other 'major' issue i posted as separate thread - and got a fix for that too! Thanks tho....
