I installed AWN to house my icons, so I set my original top default panel at first to bottom orientation, then eliminated expand, and then set it to auto-hide, with arrows.
This helped get it out of the way when I was using AWN.

It behaved for a little while, where clicking the arrow brought it all the way over to the edge, with just the arrow sticking out in case I needed it.

Just recently, clicking the arrow instead now brings it all the way off the screen. I'll click it, and the panel goes down and right off of the screen, disappearing. The only way to get it back is to log back out and back in.

Also, the panel properties dont behave, either.
I'll try and set the orientation back to top, and it wont.
It'll go right back to bottom.

Any explanations or fixes for this?
Please and thank you.

-Using Ubuntu 7.10.

maybe an upgrade will fix the problem or moving the panel to the top instead of having it in the same area as awn
