An apple a day keeps the doctor away. In other words, no anti-virus needed.

Seriously, that's the worst add I've ever seen.

It's just a plain old White Macbook.

Nothing special.

It also looks like a Granny Smith I wouldn't eat (looks too old :p)

Mac OS X 10.4 Help: Using UNIX on Mac OS X (http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=answerlink&url=http%3A%2F%2Fdocs.info.apple.com%2Farticle.htm l%3Fpath%3DMac%2F10.4%2Fen%2Fmh1984.html&answerid=16777217&src=support_site.kbase)

Using UNIX on Mac OS X Beneath the easy-to-use interface of Mac OS X is a robust and complete UNIX operating system called Darwin. Darwin is based on open technologies such as " FreeBSD ", Mach, Apache, and GCC. It comes with hundreds of powerful UNIX applications already installed.

Think many use it ?

That's actually my biggest gripe with OS X; it has such a good base and such a horrendous UI.

The interface isn't too bad. I find OS X to be a decent(ish) grounding for trying Linux, what with the file system structure being similar :)

Apple: Here, look at our great new 'user-friendly' interface!
Me: I don't like it. How do I change it?
Apple: You like it! Why would you want to change it? ADMIT YOU LIKE IT!
Me: ***runs back to Openbox***

Darwin is OK though.

I think you need to learn how to ask questions. See the link in my sig for this article: http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

You weren't. That's what makes it so funny, 'cause it got me too. :)

Even after it was explained I didn't see it at first.

For future reference OP:

People scan on the internet: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/reading_pattern.html

People have banner blindness: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/banner-blindness.html

Did the OP honestly think that anyone would recognize the model of laptop from one small slice of the back, with no markings of any kind?

Also, 'apple' implies an actual apple, which I identified. If it were written as "Apple", it would be ever so slightly clearer.

I happen to love apples, especially the tarter cultivars.

I have walked four miles in the past two days, just to get eight apples (four each day).

I apologize for the misdirection and offense was not intended . I was merely pointing out the apple as a lame reference to the laptop included in the advertisement for anti-virus software . It could be any brand of laptop , I thought it funny the actor held an apple and possibly Apple for the laptop.
