Good Idea or Bad Idea?

I don't know if anything like this has been done before, though i see threads for this here and there. Would it be good or bad to make a "Linux/Ubuntu Why-To"? Excuse me if the title doesn't make sense. It would probably be a maintained thread in the beginners section of reasons to switch to linux/ubuntu. Listing programs that are equivalent to commonly used windows and or mac programs?

I don't it was just a thought after looking over some threads here...

You can always help out at that site. If you see any review for an application that could be improved or a program that isn't listed, let them know. Always happy to have more hands working on a project like this.
