I can run the 8.04 Beta on my box fine-- no problems.

My question is, how different will the final version be from the current Beta?
If I install the beta now, will it just be a few upgrades to the final version?

I ask this because I am not familiar with the Ubuntu Development Cycle...

Probably not too much. The RC is out and the repositories have been frozen. There probably won't be any major changes made from now on out.

i downloaded over 700mb of updates with the beta

sadly some stuff got fixed, but others broke, etc.

a lot of stuff broke for me and the RC is the same so many stuff broken.

if you don't need em don't upgrade your kernel and drivers from the beta.

but u can experiment and see or wait for final release.

With what 3 or 4 days to go? I'd say we're pretty much running the final release.

Basically, as of now, those of us running Hardy have the final release. There's not going to be a whole lot changing from now to release day. I really doubt that I'll be waking up to "256 Updates Ready" for a while.
