I've come back to Linux after five or so years.
It's pretty funny that while Linux had changed, the posts on most of the forums have remained basically the same! LOL :)

Probably why they started a "reoccuring discussions" section.

There's only so much ...

Will Microsoft Fall?
Is Linux better than Windows?
KDE vs. GNOME?
Bill Gates is Evil
Take the distro test
Tell us your Linux humor
I need cheap hardware
I'm building a "leet" rig
Check out my desktop!
Check out these funny Linux pics (rehashed)
... that a person can stand being recycled before it gets tedious. Now we can droll about totally NEW topics until they get tedious. :)

Welcome back :guitar:

Well, Snarl, as you can see, on the plus-side of things not changing, most of us here at the Ubuntu forums are still nice folks. Sorry to disappoint ... :)

Anybody remember a site called linuxnewbie.com? I think that was the name. The guy who ran is had the nickname of Sensei. It was cool.

What's even funnier is the Windows support forums on Microsoft's website; it's like seeing a mirror image of these forums:

a) Partitioning problems
b) Vista runs like a dream
c) Goodbye to M$ stuff
d) update spXXXXXXX broke my etc
e) Wireless card not recognized
f) Vista interface is counter-intuitive (and attendant flame wars)

...the grass is always greener on the other side!

You'd rather have "quality" Linux users vs. "quantity" Linux users?

LOL!

Sensei started linuxnewbie.org, sold it to internet.com, who renamed it justlinux.com, then fired Sensei. Many problems ensued which caused a mass migration of the membership to other linux boards. Sensei started icalledit.com, which he still runs. This happened in 2003.
