I'm using an Athlon XP 2800+ 2083 MHz 68.3 W 32-bit processor since 5 Years, and actually I see no reason to change this :KS

Anyway are there others who never upgraded to 64 bit?

edit:
With 32bit veteran I meant someone who owns a 32 bit processor as their latest processor and cannot run 64bit Operating Systems anyway.

These users have 4years+ old CPUs.

However the poll question is ambiguous and should be:
In which maximum bit mode is your latest processor designed?

I guess the poll is therefore useless.

Ive got a Intel Core 2 Duo that is 64 bit, but i dont use 64 bit software. So far i dont see the need as most of the compatibility is not there yet. Id rather have stability than speed.

I am still using 32 bit here, nothing wrong with it as its not going anywhere anytime soon

I use 64 bit, just because I can :lolflag:

I only went to 64 bit a couple of months ago just to see what it was like, and then I tried Hardy x64 and flash worked, so I kept it :)

+1 sunny
There's no reason to change to 64Bit any time soon.

My 1.6GHz P4 and 1.86 GHz pentium-M aren't going anywhere.

I wouldn't mind if my P4 caught fire, rolled over and died though, then I'd have an excuse to get something that goes faster and sucks down less power...

I only have one PC here that can run 64 bit but I choose to continue to run 32 bit as the advantages of 64 bit at the moment are not enough to overcome the problems and limitations.

I lose abut 500 mb of my four gigs of ram doing this but I have never seen it use much more then a gig anyway.

I typically have 32 bit disks around as I often give them out and don't want to get into such technical details (ask the average person what CPU they have and you'll see).

I use 32 bit on my desktop, although I have a 64 bit CPU because I started with 32 bit and have upgraded since then.

I use 64 bit on my laptop. I might do a fresh install with the 64 bit version, I don't know.

LaRoza I did a fresh install of Hardy (I don't like dist-upgrading, I like to start afresh with each version :))

Though perhaps I'm picky...:)

The laptop has a fresh install of Hardy (from several weeks ago).

The desktop "just works", and I may not get Hardy very quickly.

I have a Petium 4 with 64 bit compatibility (it's one of the laaaaaate models). I also have a Core 2 Duo, but both machines use 32 bit OSs. I never saw a need for 64bit, for me, anyway.

My laptop "just worked" with Gutsy too...though I couldn't resist with Hardy...luckily, everything "just worked" better with it, so it was all good.

As I'm sure you've suggested before, try a Live CD in the desktop :)

Oh....and an am somewhat of an update lover.... I like to have the latest software...unless is doesn't work, then I couldn't care less :)

My processor is an AMD Athalon XP 64bit 3800+, 1MB cache, bought it almost 2 years ago.

I was actually thinking of buying some new parts, and make me a new computer, to run Windows and Cubase SX 3 on, so I could make music.

But as others before me said, this one isn't going anywhere yet, probably not for at least another year.

This isn't the right place, but... WTF is 64 bit and how can I get it to work???

AMD Athlon XP 2400+ here... 32-bit, works like a charm...

dammit, I guess I formulated the poll question in a wrong way 8-[

Actually it should be only about weather the processor is 32 or 64 bit, not about the operating system :(

my amd dual core in my laptop runs 32-bit OSes and my PC (P4 @ 2.60GHz) is only 32-bit. Reasons to change? None that i've seen so far.

Ah, just saw the last post, then no, my laptop runs a 64 bit dual core, but my PC is still 32-bit, and that probably won't change (until i get the money together for the parts for the PC i plan on building, which will have a dual core)

i one of the relatively few people that actually need 64-bits(knocks DAYS of processing time for some of the applications i put through it) but my server still uses a 32-bit, 700MHz processor. the load never gets above 1 on it so i don't need to change it, maybe when it breaks.

but my number cruncher definitely needs all 64 and a smidgeon of overclocking.
