interesting article. i read TONS of gnu/linux articles daily. this one seemed like a "debian is hard, though it worked well for me" article. not much new material here.

I've never considered Debian an Elitist distro - surely that accolade must go to Gentoo.
Debian has always looked at as always being behind the times with outdated software, i.m.o.
But I no longer look forward to using Red Hat where the whole system needs to be rebuilt every 3 months. Or SUSE for that matter.
I can honestly say that I have had more fun tweaking my Ubuntu system than removing dozens of packages from Fedora or SUSE.
