I pretty much expect any Ubuntu release to be at least a day late anymore.

Yep... Got to wait 1 more day sigh :( Just don't know if I can do it. I decided not to beta test 8.04 and get when RC comes out since its basically done... But hey its just 1 more day how bad could this day be... :(

Final release, or release candidate? Gutsy final wasn't late, as far as I know. It was still the release date according to the international date line. They don't say "while it's that day UTC" just that it's that date somewhere in the world at that time. Aussies get restless while we still think it's a day away, and we think it's late when that day has yet to end in Hawaii.

maybe the help from gksu "update-manager -d" is too optimistic - since yesteday it tells it is the release candidate...
