Hey guys, I need some input here...
hit up my blog and test out two things... Does the search box on the left display properly? It should be inside the white border. Now click comments on one of the entries and see if the comment box shows up properly. Again, it shouldn't stretch beyond the white border.

I'm getting many different results. In Firefox 1.0 in Windows at work, the search box doesn't go over the border, but the comments box does. In Firefox 1.0 in Ubuntu, it's right the opposite. The search box is screwed, but the comments box works fine.

Using:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041128 Firefox/1.0 (Debian package 1.0-4)

Yep. That's what mine looks like with:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041116 Firefox/1.0 (Ubuntu) (Ubuntu package 1.0-2ubuntu3)

arctic, what is your firefox build info?

search box spills over a bit using firefox 1.0 in redhat 9.0 using the build that i downloaded off the mozilla.org page.

The search box appears fine in the Windows Firefox but the comment box goes over the boarder.

BTW, Same thing for Opera

Firefox build in Windows: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0

I'm using Firefox 0.9.3 that came by default on Warty and the search box goes over while the comments boxes are fine.

Excellent... I think I've fixed everything now.
