When Ubuntu Mobile is launched, are there any devices it could operate on. For instance, the Ubuntu Mobile page says that there are aiming to launch it for the samsung Q1 Ultra. However, from what I can tell that device does not have a touch screen.

What I really want to know is if there are any devices that will take advantage of the touch screen capability.

I wouldnt really want an iPhone. I was look at the Samsung Q1 Ultra, but like I said before, it doesnt seem to have a touch screen. If it did that would be great.

I definitely would want something slightly more substantial than just an iPhone and something that had no phone capabilities.

I always get too excited about Ubuntu mobile, since I immediately think "Ubuntu for mobile phones!"

From what I gather it's really for UMPCs.

A linux mobile phone OS would be so utterly wonderful, especially if it worked on my Nokia E90.

mobile phones are like pda's now, they can get Ubuntu mobile working on smart phones, just like windows mobile works on them and pdas at same time.

also you would like to trow in a small browser like opera mini or firefox mobile

the advantage, nlike windows mobile, is that you can get ubuntu on UMPC and tablet pc and for free.

How many devices will Ubuntu Mobile work on?

What about the "HP iPAQ 214 Enterprise Handheld"?

I'm thinking about using PDA's as order-handling devices in our shop. (collection pieces from our stock, printing invoices, etc...)

do you know any such ubuntu or linux flavor which could run on a mobile such as the nokia communicator or the other symbian (S60) phones. which do not have powerful processors and RAM unlike what is required for the ubuntu mobile edition which has the likes of ultra, shift i.e. heavy specs.
