In one of these comparison threads is it better to say "vs" or "or"

depends on the emphasis you are tying to put on things. are you talking about a choice between two things then use "or". Are you making an argument for one thing or another and trying to pit them against each other then use "VS". At least I think that's the question your asking.

I kind of like how "vs" seems to imply more violence involved, like saying "two go in and one comes out" or the one that loses will have to be scraped up off the mat afterward.

Vs is a good idea. Its a little more "dangerous" than this or that

"this versus that" - 4 syllables

"this or that" - 3 syllables.

"this or that" wins.

are you nuts? "this vs that" produces more syllables with the same amount of letters! Clearly "vs" is superior to "or","v", or "/"

It also is often taken to be more poetic since many people believe that it is an abbreviated form for 'verses'.
