I'm a big fan of KDE's application suite, and the way in which the individual utilities work together, so I use these for many things. There are several elements of KDE that I don't like, however, and that's where the hybrid elements come in:

KWin -- I use Fluxbox instead
KDM -- startx is faster
Konsole -- Too heavy for a terminal; I use Sakura and RXVT-unicode
Krita -- GIMP ftw

Kate is among the best GUI text editors available, so I can't dislike it, but I use Vim instead.

System monitoring is done via conky, htop, and whatever specific command might give me the additional information I want.

wm: wmii (been playing with other tiling wm's, awesome and xmonad)
terminal: xterm (or urxvt)
browser: elinks, or opera
media: mpd+ncmpc, mplayer, streamripper
graphics: feh, gimp
file management: cli (don't need thunar, can't get used to mc)
other: htop, apt, gmail, startx, gcalctool

more and more, gui stuff has been getting on my nerves. it's not that i'm more minimal than thou, i just don't like them that much.

OS: Mac OS X
It has Wine, KDE, and X11. Wine is installed completely by hand from source(including dependencies). KDE is also installed from source. A few packages I have are installed through Mac-Ports(rtorrent).

This computer is pretty twisted and I think it needs a reinstall.
