Well messing around I've installed links (not lynx) cli web browser and am posting from it. Does my post look different?

Now, you have to use the following apps:
irssi (for IRC)
finch (for IM)
mc (for file management)
vim (for editing)
mplayer (for multimedia)

Now, you have to use the following apps:
irssi (for IRC)
finch (for IM)
mc (for file management)
vim (for editing)
mplayer (for multimedia)
See my blog for my iBook (use a graphical browser, there are images)
+ rtorrent for torrents
+ moc or mpd/ncmpc for music
+ gnu screen -- the indispensable companion for the terminal
+ latex/vim for wordprocessing
Incidentally, web browsing is about the only thing I prefer not using cli for ;)

Yes, I use Opera as my most (and almost only) graphical app.

Not on my CLI only setup, and if I am going to use a browser on my desktop, I use Opera (I use a lot of its features)

This is one of the reasons I use ubuntu I start a simple thread about my small accomplishment and it turns into a thread with lots of info thanks for these great programs espically the torrent one.

I generally prefer an mpd solution as well, but on my laptop I sometimes connect an external hd with 80gb of mp3s and having to redo the mpd database every time I want to use it is a pita as it takes about 5 minutes -> in such situations mocp is much better.
