I know very little about Pulse Audio, and am absolutely confused about how to use it. Though I am also under the impression that it has not been completely integrated into 8.04 yet. Whether or not that's the case...please let me know. But I am confused about how it will finally be implemented, how the user will configure it, or if the user will even be bothered with configuration and just be left with the standard volume mixer with default settings of some kind established. I won't consider myself knowledgeable until I can at least adjust my bass and treble, as well as my surround speakers...

So...that's what little I know about Pulse Audio. What do you know?

Im loving the ability to control individual streams and move them between devices. It is very nifty indeed. You may want to install the pulse audio guis;

sudo apt-get install padevchooser paman paprefs pavucontrol pavumeter

I then added 'padevchooser' to my startup commands to get the tray applet to start automatically.

Read this article from Ars Technica: PulseAudio to bring earcandy to Linux (http://arstechnica.com/journals/linux.ars/2007/10/17/pulseaudio-to-bring-earcandy-to-linux) to get an idea.
