View Full Version : Dynamic video generation from a collection of images?

I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a way of generating videos (Ideally FLV or mpeg) from a collection of images on-the-fly? The goal is to incorporate this into a web application, so it would be ideal to be able to do this on the server-side using PHP, Python, etc and then serve up the video to the client onces it is ready. I would also be up for doing it with flex/as3 if anyone knows a way to do it that way.

I've been looking around on the web, but so far have not found any really good solutions. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A cheesy way to do it is to use a LAN browser that pops up people's surfing images from a local subnet. I forget what the application is called. Then use scrot with an approriate snapshot time and make a screencast while a few people surf selected images from another computer.
