what's the best "search" service at the internet? (yahoo, google, livesearch ETC)

also write down a argument why you think yours is the better one...

I think www.google.com is the best at all times, i can allways find what i need at Google

It depends on what you are looking.

I've used them all (not just the ones in the list, remember when altavista was big?) and found google to be the best.

Even search services like metacrawler who use the results of some engines and combine them don't get better results than google.

Lately, I've been using ixquick.com (http://ixquick.com). It is a bit slower than Google, but it gives better results and they have a much better privacy policy.

I really would like to know what do you mean by "better results"?

Fiercely loyal to Google, due to the fact I've been using it for so long its a habit, the front page is nice, clean and easy to use, and I always find what I'm looking for.

I also like the additional features on there like Google Maps. I use that one quite heavily.

oOo, and I have the language set to Elmer Fudd. Very useful, that.

I've started using www.zuula.com.

It's a metasearch engine and hence compiles the results of others (e.g. Google, Yahoo! etc). What I like about it is that it brings back the results in the form of tabs, so you see the results from Google in one tab, Yahoo! in another.

And you can choose the order of your tabs too. If you prefer the results of Ask (for instance) most of the time you can therefore make this the first tab.

I agree. It is much harder to speak English than my native language, so I put the language to Elmer Fudd.

Personally, I use Yahoo when I can. I just like the fact that there isn't as much *censored* as there is on Google's results.

To be honest, though, I'd be using the Open Directory Project\dMoz if it were a bit more complete.

I use Clusty.com (http://clusty.com) right now. Interface doesn't look as clean as google, but it's privacy policy isn't nearly as fugly.

Google is the best, Ask isn't bad either.

The one I use most is Dogpile. www.dogpile.co.uk

Nothing else comes close.

My next favourite search engine is www.doogle.org
