That is pretty ridiculous. It's very annoying to have to deal with that pink text too.

It does become highlighted. That, however, does not make it any easier to read. If some text is oblique, it is well nigh impossible to read when highlighted.

It was an April fools gag by an admin (I am not an admin). It was then left as it was. After several complaints, I asked the colour to be darkened, and it was.

Just for the record, we have noticed a nicer tone and atmosphere in the OMG pInK pOnIeS forum since we changed the name and the default text color (originally as an April Fool's Day joke). That wasn't the intent, but it is having a powerful affect on our thinking about keeping it.
