so hey, Im looking for a distro (maybe kind of like mythTV?) that I can use like a media center, but in my car. Itd be nice if it was lightweight, but it still needs some wireless support and 3d. (i have a lightweight nvidea card for 3d viz, etc.) Maybe a WM that consists of big, customizable buttons and thats it?
also, on a related note, whats the GPS support like in linux, ive never checked it out, but id like to include this in my project.

suggest away.

Here's a page about a guy's project of a in-dash touch-screen pc. Looks to be running Gentoo.

Project (https://www.timekiller.org/carpc/index.php)

Software (https://www.timekiller.org/carpc/software.php)

Maybe this will help. =]

you should test a selection. it depends what you need and how fast this computer is gonna be. here's a short list for you to google:

and if you want to splash out on a nokia internet tablet, there's canola

* these two have distributions built around them. the others will run in a window on your desktop. you can of course set them to start fullscreen.
