Any idea where I can download\buy a DVD of that documentary? I want a hard copy to watch on my TV, but Google and Yahoo didn't turn up anything.

You can sift through the source to find a hard link to the video, or I know from Safari you can go to the "activities" window, and it will show each file that's loading on the page individually. The biggest file is almost always the video. That's how I get YouTube videos. Of, course, that assumes you have another OS available that can run Safari...

Sadly, I don't... Well, not in a way where I could make the file into a DVD, anyway. I've got a Windows VM in VirtualBox, but no DVD software on it. Any tips on how to transfer it without wasing a DVD, or a good DVD authoring app for Windows?

Usually I download the .flv file, and then convert it with ffmpeg to a format that then I can burn to either videoCD or DVD

Try using wget on this link http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=1828149353926910105& and see if it'll download it.

Okay, I'm at a loss. How do you get the FLV off of Google Video? I can't get Safari to see it in my Windows VM, and I can't get to it in Firefox via Page Info...

Eidt: Whoops. Didn't see your post until I submitted mine, NullHead.

Edit 2:It downloaded something, but I don't think it was the video. Only a few KB in size, so I doubt that was it.

I have yet to be able to find a way to download this video. I hope someone is able to just in case it is deleted from google for some reason.

You could try an extension for firefox called unplug.

There's also "fast video download", another firefox extension.

Instead of downloading the low-quality flv file from google you can download the high qualitiy .ogg theora file here:

I presume their aren't any rights on this video :p

I believe it is under some sort of Creative Commons license. I don't use p2p sites because of the way I like to keep my network configured but thanks for the suggestion.

If you are going to convert a .flv file to watch on your tv, it's not going to look good at all.

That .ogg theora file is 2.8gb, so the quality will be very good.

you can wait until the video finishes loading and then go to /tmp and there should be a file called "FlasheY3tK0" or something similar

sorry i didnt see the 10 previous posts :S
