Hi I'm giving a presentation on how to support Linux focusing on Ubuntu for my tech support class in a few weeks. I was hopping some of you could give me some ideas of what you think is important to mention.

for an idea of what I already have heres my outline
Short history of Linux
Who is Linux for and who is it not for
Pick a distribution (top 10 on distrowatch.com Ubuntu, PCLinuxOS, Opensuse, Fedora, Linux Mint (remix of Ubuntu), Mandriva, Saybayon, Debian, Damn Small Linux, or MEPIS)
Ubuntu
Installing
Software alternatives for the software you use/used on Windows
Things you can do in Ubuntu that you can't do in Windows (I could really use some help with that one)
Where to go for help

other thing I need to cover are

Damn Small Linux, Puppy Linux, SliTaz, PUD, Fluxbuntu

Rescue CD and tools to resize a partition
SystemRescueCd
Parted Magic

again any tips would be great

PS I already have a good deal of the presentation ready I'm just looking for additional help or for something I may have forgotten about.

Thank you

Things you can do in Ubuntu that you can't do in Windows:

1. not get viruses
2. tab auto-complete
3. compiz fusion
4. repositories (sudo apt-get)
5. workspaces

also i would emphasize that one of the best support tools of any open source product is its community. In ubuntu's case they do a really good job here ex: ubuntuforums
