Goodbye Edgy Eft, We'll Miss You!

I am sad to report that Ubuntu 6.10, called Edgy Eft by those who know it well, will no longer receive security updates as of April 25, 2008. You were a wonderful distro, and no Heron (however Hardy) will ever replace you in the hearts and minds of friends. 18 months was far too little time to enjoy your company, and you will be missed by all!

Edgy was my first ever experience of GNU/Linux, and I've never had to re-install once.

Man, this here GNU/Linux is good.

Edgy is what got me started in Linux; the original installation from Dec 2006 is still running strong on my old laptop. I've got it so tweaked and customized, I'd hate to part with it - but I may have to.

I realize Edgy willl continue to run, but security is important to me, so the 'ol girl will probably have to go.

A tip o' the hat to you, Edgy, well deserved. :D
