Hi. I just downloaded the FreeBSD 6.2 iso and wanted to know, how much of an inspiron 1420N would be compatible with FreeBSD 6.2?

Well my Dell Inspiron 530 is 100% compatible with FreeBSD 6.2/6.3, so I would imagine your's will be good to go as well. Though I must interject, I did have problems with 6.2 seeing my USB keyboard, but 6.3 saw it no problem, other than that I can't think of any reason you should have issues. Check http://www.freebsd.org/releases/6.2R/hardware-i386.html for 6.2 and http://www.freebsd.org/releases/6.3R/hardware-i386.html for 6.3 to verify all your hardware is listed.

Actually I don't have an inspiron 1420N yet (plan to get it if THAT megacorp doesn't get in my way). I asked because I would like to know how good a dualboot linux/freebsd would go on that particular laptop.
